I got mine Monday and I have been working on running all of the cabling for it. I have my antenna on my rear deck and I mounted the FM modulator under the dash.
I have the control panel mounted inside my sunglasses holder. I ran the cable through the roof and down the A pillar on the drivers side.

All I need to do now is power the unit up!!
I can't wait.

i just got mine yesterday and want to install myself, but have no idea where to start. do you have pics or other install instructions that could help me out? I don't want to pay $90 (quoted from Circuit City) to have some 18 year old not care about what gets damaged while installing. thanks.

I have some pics I can email you for the antenna install. But I can tell you, I worked at CC for about 5 years and you should be able to get a really good install done there. They install a lot of satellite radio. All of their installers are MECP certified and if something happens, which it won't, would you rather CC have to pay to fix it rather than yourself? It could cost you a lot more than $90 if you have a problem doing it yourself.

Let me know if you want me to send the antenna pics.

And, you can call me if you have any questions.

Like yourself, I did not know where to start. It definately took me longer to do this install than it would take a professional but I don't think that I would have the same results. Unforunately, I don't have any pictures of the install.

If you have any specific questions, PM me. I didn't want to pay to have someone install it either. It wasn't the money. I enjoy working on the car. I know I will appreciate it more knowing that I did it myself.

It is always more rewarding to do it yourself!!! Give yourself a couple of hours. Although not difficult to install, running the wires is time consuming.

I have started the install!

Ok, I received the Panasonic unit and love how it looks so far. Let's see if I can finish the install.

I got the CDU in the sunglass holder like kronnman and have the wires running through the roof over to the driver side pillar. i got the pillar off. now, i stopped here to determine just exactly where i want the wire to go (since the connector at the end is difficult to feed past the dash).

so i go to determine where i want to put the receiver and notice that the power wires are extremely short. how did you guys mount this receiver to the back seat and still hook up both power wires (switching and always on wires)?

also, how do i get to the radio? i mean, how do i get the bose w/ 6cd out from the dash so i can access the antennae?

thanks guys! this is getting really tricky now!

I got power to the unit yesterday and I activiated it. All I can say is WOW!! I listened to it all day yesterday. A few cutouts but those were mainly under overpasses.

Oz,
I got the wire down the a-pillar toward the windshield. There is not too much room as you can see, but you will be able to get the connector down through the dash.

All I can say it that it was well worth the effort!! Stay with it. I'll try to help you out as much as I can.

hey, i got the wire down the pillar and past the windshield. i have the connector waiting right by the hood release for me to bring the male connector from the receiver. did you have to buy power wires for the receiver? and where did you hook up the power for the receiver?

also, for the antennae, how did you remove the pillars in the rear? are they the same as the front, with clips? thanks again.

I went to a car stereo place and told them what I was doing. They sold me about 20 feet of power wire. More than you will need but it cost me a whole 2 bucks. I then wired the from the back all the way to the front on the left side of the car. Underneath the dash and through the hole to get to the stereo. I have wiring schematics for the Bose unit. From that, I determined where I would draw power from. PM or e-mail me a fax number and I will send these to you.

As far as the antenna, that back pillar removes the same way as the fromt A pillar. It comes out real hard the first time. On this one, start from the top and pull. Be somewhat gentle but you will need to pull on it hard enough to get it to come loose.
