Seeking EQ advice

I've never found the need for an EQ in any of my setups before, but then I never did a Maxima before. With the mids in the door and the tweats in the pillars, the mids are severely lacking; actually I think it's really the mid-bass that's lacking (like 150-500) but tough to tell. I need advice from others who have combatted this problem before. I am considering the following choices:

1) Some kind of EQ. Advice on these?
2) The Alpine HU that I've been considering (CDA-9815) has a 6-band EQ built into it, will this be enough?
3) Or is there another fix such as dynamating my doors to improve mid-range response from the woofers?

Right now I have the treble turned all the way down on my HU (like -12dB) but it's not enough and/or wide enough.

Re: Seeking EQ advice

Your best option for this is Dynamat the doors... and I dont think this is the fault of maxima... I think its more your speakers. But definitely.. dynamat will help.
