i had Boston Pro Components in the rear when i first did my system. I lter decided on installing 6x9's to get more mid-bass and midrange outta the rear. And after comparing the two id have to say 6x9's are definitly louder and hit harder than the 6.5's. But i do miss the extreme clarity from the Pro's

To my understanding... It depends on the way that you place the speakers in the holes... If you want to replace them from the top you would have to use 6.5 but if you are mounting them from the bottom (in the trunk) you use 6x9....
