Who here can SEE their HU in direct sunlight?

My biggest gripe about my HU is that during the day, I can't see the display. Nothing. The angle of the 5th gen Max dash makes it worse. Who here has an HU that they can see clearly during the day? What model is it? I'd like to hear from 5th gen owners (because of the dash slope), but all comments are welcome!

If YOU read correctly then you would notice he says that all comments are welcome, not just 5th gens. I'm not trying to start arguments here, just trying to help newbies feel welcome a little.

I see mine without any problems, even when the sunroof is open and the sun is behind/over-top of me. I've got a Kenwood KDC-MPV7019 HU.

I can't see jack shee-ite. Even with the different angles that the deck provides.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I now have a better idea what to look for. Seams that the newer Alpine/Kenwood/Pioneer decks have better visibility; or maybe just newer decks in general.

I know Pioneer uses Kodak's OLED (Organic LED) in their displays, and I had heard that Kenwood and Alpine also signed on for it, but wasn't sure if they were using it yet.

I thought a couple companies had bought the rights from Pioneer. But maybe Kodak had it first. My Sony is definitely in the group of old, no-can-see-um's.

Kodak developed it. Pioneer and Sanyo were two of the first to buy the rights to use it. I see now that Alpine is using it in their CDA-7998 deck, calling it Bio-Lite. And Kenwood is using it in some of the eXcelon decks and calling it Organic EL.

I know this is off topic, but what is so good, or the difference between "regular" displays and Kodak's OLED? To me the display looks like a Game Boy; not good.

The OLED is a LCD alternative that is brighter, better daylight visibility, much wider viewing angle, and doesn't leave trails for better animation. The reason these particular head units look like Game Boy is the manufacturers chose to go with a passive matrix single color display for cost. But OLED is also available as an active matrix full-color display. Kodak site about OLED.
