Sound Deading Material

I plan upgrading my factory system, I will also be adding a sub. I was wondering how much sound deading material to purchase I want to have minimal to no rattles at all. Also is there a particular manufacture you recommend (i.e. good vendor that I can save $$$)? Also how much should I purchase like 36 sq. ft? I wanna apply to the trunk, deck lid, door panels, possibly floor board. Let me know

TIA

Re: Sound Deading Material

Are you installing all this yourself or are you having an installer do it? I just recently had my car done in 17 rolls of Dynamat-Extreme, along with 4 rolls of Tacmat along the firewall (1 roll on the driver's side had to be removed later because it lifted the carpet too high and I couldn't step down on the gas or the clutch deep enough with the floor mat over it). According to the installer this was about as complete an install as he's ever done. The material alone costed me $500. The reason why ask if you're doing it yourself is that regular Dynamat takes a lot more work to install than the Extreme. So, you may end up saving money as a whole if you get it installed by a pro because of the labor factor. BTW, my car is sooooooo quiet now. It was the best mod I could've done to my sound system. Highly recommended.

dont forget the roof.

I was doing a fequency sweep to find rattle spots on my 95 max.
yknow 5 hz - 80 hz just the lower end, high end doesnt cause rattles .

Any way i realized that what i had thought was the trunk lid rattling, turned out to be the rear roof! At some point i will have to put some deadening there and in the trunk. Im going to build a custom trunk box first though.

Use RAAMat not dynamat, DM is over priced.

yo

I just dampened my trunk. I used some **** called fat mat extreme. I used 36 square feet, and that was not enough to finish my whole trunk. (I did double up in a few areas however)
