Thinking of running a system. But a few problems....
I had a system beforeand burned up a alternater.
After that happened, I bought a cap(thinking it would help) burned another.
Took all of the it out burned up another one.
Should i risk it again ?
Would a Optima battery solve my problems or do i have to get a 200+amp alternater ?

hey, dont feel bad, don't know what to tell you. In five years I have also went through two alternators and two batteries on my 91SE, the second time I was also running a 1 farad cap. I just accepted it cause i was also running hight wattage headlight, corner lights and foglights.
I am going to get an optima for my new other car though and I am not running high wattage this time plus much less playing of the stereo due to change of location, etc.

I say go ahead and run it, its for your convenience

 

Get the optima, upgrade all the wires( starter, alt., Battery), get a bigger alternator, and the cap. You'll be ok. I had to change the Alt. on my truck, and still had some troubles(dimming) then I up graded the wires and it was fine. Just thought this might help.
