Bose Adapter

Hey does anyone have a part number and place to buy one for a 97 Bose system? I went to Best Buy and Circuit City and was told they don't exist. I know there are too many systems that USED to be Bose.

Are you talking about using an adapter for an aftermarket headunit while keeping the bose speakers? If so, both places have them. They're known as factory amplifier integrators or something of that source. I can give you much more detailed info for either of those places, but waiting for you to verify that this is the info you are seeking.

In the Audio Forum's FAQ, there are threads about which type of "adapter" kit you are looking for. Once you pick the right one, let us know. For all the PAC kits, http://www.affsave.com/ is the cheapest online seller (typically). For the regular Nissan adapters (such as the antenna adapters and wiring harness adapters), you can get those at Circuit City, Best Buy, or a local auto-parts store. But since you have the Bose system, you'll more than likely need a PAC kit. Read the FAQ first and see if that answers your questions. If not, let us (me) know and we'll (I'll) help you the best way we (I) can.

Yes its the converter for an aftermarket H/U. It looks like a little box with some gains controls on it. I know that they have them but they are only for the 3rd gens (89-94?) Is there a difference? in these units? I already went and got the ANT. 2 prongs to normal thing, What a pain in the but this has turned out to be.

You can get the "converter" at Best Buy. I just recently did a conversion myself. Was extremely simple. It is made by Install Edge (a company owned by Rockford Fosgate). It is called: Premium System Interface IEC PSI2, universal direct splice in. It cost $39 at Best Buy.

Willing to help some more if you need it,

No. There are two kits available:
The ROEM-NIS1 kit is made for 1989-1994 Nissan vehicles.
The ROEM-NIS2 kit is made for 1995-2003 Nissan vehicles.
I cannot confirm that these kits will work on the 2004 vehicles, yet.

Is there a difference in these units?
The connectors are different between the kits, as Nissan's harnesses were different. Nissan changed the wiring harness in the 1995 models.

You'll need the antenna adapter, which is good. It's sorta a pain in the butt because you can't just run out and get it all bought at once.

I just came back from Best Buy to buy the wiring harness(es) for my 91 Bose replacement. I was amazed how much these wires were. $90.06. This is what he said I will need = 1. Install Edge Premium System Interface IEC PSI2 2. Metra male wiring harness 71-1763 3. Metra female wiring harness 70-1763 4. antenna adapter. He told me you wire the system interface in between the two wiring harnesses. I kept my receipt, I think I only need one harness though.
