Component Speakers

I blew my speakers in the front, so it is time to replace them. I am getting infinity component speakers and was wondering how easy it is to install them myself because I do not want to pay for installation (times are tight). Also, I have an amp, how hard would it be to hook it up to these, or my rear boston acoustics speakers. Thanks!

This installation will take you some time. I spend a good 12-14 hours for the speaker replacement in my 2k2. Nissan loves electrical tape and they dont give you much extra wire inside the car. I used to have a doc with all the wire colors but I seem to have lost it. Maybe someone can repost it.

12-14 hours is sad...sorry dude.

Should take you maybe a day, as in 8 hours if you have no idea what your doing.

Well, I did it on a weekend and after tearing apart the entire drivers side dash looking for the speaker wires I got p*ssed and left it alone till the next day. That was the only real problem. The other 3 doors were much easier...And I do know what I am doing!

If you want to keep the stock stuff in position, you should run your own speaker wires. What kind of component infinity's are you running? The kappas are great just watch out for the front door speakers? You might need to put an extension ring on so the window will clear the magnet. Stock h/u or aftermarket? If it's stock you will need to put in audio linx to go from hi-level inputs to low level (rca's). Hope this helps.

If I'm just replacing the speakers, it isn't this complicated right...I had subwoofers in so there are cables running to the trunk for an amp, how would I hook it up to speakers thought, which would be better to have the amp on the front or the rear, and I have the stock head unit.

If you have a 4th Gen, go to www.maximadriver.com and look in the How2 section. I have written two articles on installing a stereo and speakers, and another one for installing an amp. The hardest part is just doing it for te first time.

Thanks, but when will the site be up again?! I ordered my speakers on ebay and just sent out payment today so it will be a little while before I get them.

Agreed, even thinking 8 hours is long....

BUT I do give alot of respect for admitting to taking that long
