In dash tv....7" Microvision screen

i'm thinking of replacing my stock bose head unit with the 7" Microvison screen. it's supposed to come with everything you need to install it, but what are the "other little things" i need to buy to make it work. i want to use my ps2 to play the dvd's so i don't have to buy a dvd player. i figure i'll need a power inverter to plug the ps2 into (how many watts?) and i'll probably end up getting another headunit to play cds. would it be smarter to just get a dvd/cd/cd-r player to play the dvds? how about if i want to watch tv? how much is a tv tuner? i'm kinda lost here. any info would be much appreciated.

thanks,

Jim

The 7 inch microvision screen doesn't just fit right out of the box. Unless you see a pic of someone that modified it it will take some time to see what you have to cut from the plastic case to get it to fit in the dashes bracket. A ps2 is fine for playing games and watch dvd. You will need the invertor for ps2, the lcd can be powered by same source that powers your head uint from the battery. I am not sure about a tv tuner but they are not cheap I don't think. Probably at least 100$ and thats pretty crappy since you'll only get local stations and they don't come in well when your car is in motions.

If you're any good with electronics, you can modify your PS2 to run off DC power instead of using the converter. How To DC Your PS2

ok, I had to show my neibor again this weekend . The screen does fit with no modifications at all!!!!. Mine and now his and a few others is in ther with ) modifications!! and does not move. once you take the bose radio out and put your aftermarket hu in the bracket, you will have the bug opening in the middle where the bose was. you can squeeze the screen into the hole, it is very tight but it will make it!! if it seems as though your screen wil not fit, take the headunit off of the bracket, slide the screen in , and then rescrew your headunit in. these screws will be har to screw in but they will catch and tighten in , and the screen wont move; only the very little you need to adjust it to sit in the hole perfectly.

Funny...when DR0832 and I did his, the screen would not fit in there. We tried it, but it was putting so much pressure on the sides of the screen housing that the screen was bending. We just had to trim down the sides of the screen's frame and then it fit nice. It wasn't hard to do, but it was needed.

Pioneer DEH-P9200r HU with a Farenheit FM Modulator (new model that sends waves instead of connecting antenna through it).

Already did that, and tried relocating the FM Modulator itself. Still has it
