I don't think it will. It looks likes the width is too long, and the depth might be pushing it, unless you get is custom mounted. I have a 91 SE with a Kenwood Deck in mine and it fits perfectly. My dimensions are W= 7.165 H= 2.086 D= 6.377. Hope this helps.

Providing that the unit is a single din.. I would say it should fit with no problems.. I had the Pioneer In-Dash monitor in my 89' and it had plenty of room.. Plus I have the Clarion that you speak of in my 5th gen and the unit honestly doesnt seem to be that big at all..

It might not seem that big in the 5th gen but I don't think it will fit in the 3rd gen. What are the dimensions for the Pioneer in your 3rd Gen?

it is....W=7 H=2 D=6.125... but there is plenty of room behind it now... if i do get it i think im gonna have to modify the center console so that it is wide enough

Someone has misinformed you of the dimensions. There is no headunit known to man at this time that is 12.25" wide. It is a simple single din piece and will fit in any car, yes including your 3rd gen.
