In Dash TV/Stereo Question

I'm thinking about putting a screen like redmax sells and replacing the boise head unit but I'm not sure what else I need to make this happen. I know I'll need a new cd/mp3 player or whatever and plan to get a dvd player for the screen. Will the stock boise speakers in the front and rear still work or do they sell some type of adapter when the new radio is installed?

Please let me know your opinions and what you think is the best set-up to go with.

you can buy an adapter to run the Bose speakers from an aftermarket HU for around $50. Personally, I went with replacing the speakers when I did the radio.

I haven't checked but are the Boise speakers factory amplified right now? So if I got the adaptor everything would work fine. They don't sound that bad with my subs now and I don't have enough money for the complete swap yet...just checking my options.

With the screen everone seems to put the radio below the screen. I want to keep it as clean looking as possible. With the radio below does it sit flush or stick out a bit. I have a 5 Speed as well and getting a B&M sts which makes the shifter sit about 1/2 inch foward. Do you think that will cause any problems?

the HU will sit out about a 1/4 inch...not bad at all. The speakers have amps on each one, but that special adapter will work. The hardest part to having your radio lower is getting CDs in and out with the shift in the way.

I have an auto. I can get a CD in and out when in park, but it's tough.

The boise speakers are from Idaho...thanks Aaron don't you have work to do? The BOSE speakers is what I'm referring to.

I think I'm going to try the set-up. I just don't want it to get stolen living downtown and all.

Redmax's 7" Screen
Kenwood Cd/Mp3 Player (Getting the roomate hook up at Best Buy)

I have yet to decide on what type of DvD player to buy and where to mount. Any suggestions or better set up ideas would be greatly appreciated! Hook-ups on the dvd player would be nice too.
