budget upgrade

I have a 6cd/radio dbl-din from an Xterra. I want to improve the sound a lil (my passengers complain of the muddy paper sound). I was thinking of Kenwood KFC-1739ie ($70) for the fronts and keeping the stock rears. The rms/peak is 40/170, so I want a 2x100 amp but dunno what to get that's low cost yet not crappy.

As for bass, I'm definitely getting a Basslink, but I won't get that till next year.

1) How will this setup sound from the front seats? I want something clear and decently loud. I listen to all kinda of music (pop, techno/dance, hip-hop, country usually)
2) What budget amp is recommended?

Thanx all!

Jae

Thanks for the informative post, Mr. Zapco.

1) Speakers are a matter of preference; but I don't like Kenwoods. I'd look at Infinity or Pioneer for budget speakers. I think the Infinity Reference are the ones everyone is always talking about on here, but not sure.
2) Alpine V-Power, Rockford Fosgate, and some of the Pioneer amps are less expensive and people seem to like them. I had an Alpine V-Power in my old Cavalier and it worked great for years.

Also, a lot of org members are happy with the basslink, I think that's a good choice.

He asked how it would sound i feel it would be "crappy" what else should I say? Preference absolutly...But I rank and review everything by the same standard of relisim and then put it into a group by money. He can do much better. Somtimes its not worth spending less when you just gonna end up replacing it...Keep saving.
