Take it back and have them fix it if you dont like it. Don't you get some type of warranty or anything? How far does it stick out?

ANY aftermarket radio in a 4th gen will stick out of the dash about a half an inch. The reason being, on the factory radio brackets there are two holes for mounting and those correspond to the holes in the sides of your new radio. if you want the radio flush you will have to make new holes on the radio brackets inorder to get the "flush look". I have done this and its really not worth the time...

That is not true. I just finished installed my Kenwood MP-919 in my max earlier this week and it sits in about about an 1/8 of an inch. I didn't make any new holes or anything, the deck already had holes drilled in it from the manufactorer. I'll put pics up tommorrow. It looks great.

I say take it back because mine fits great.

dont be ignorant or try and know it all, Kenwood and Pioneer decks have different mounting points, i should know cause i only install about 15 radios a day at work all of which are Kenwood and Pioneer!

if you look at my post i corrected myself in saying you would have to modify your radio brackets if you want the faceplate to sit flush in the dash. Some manufacturers like Kenwood do have extra mounting point on the body of the radio. Pioneer in this case DOES NOT.

and your particular model has a flip face that is about half as thick as a pioneers face plate, hense the 1/8" you say it sticks out...

so like i said most aftermarket radios for a 4th gen maxima when installed in the factory position will have the faceplate stick out everytime, which is totally normal, geez!!

First off I didn't say I knew it all, I was just saying that your statement about any (as in all of the ones made) HU not fitting flush was wrong and it is still wrong because mine does not stick out. (as you just agreed to in your 2nd post)

Second, I didn't say it sticks out and 1/8", i said its sits IN 1/8" which is even better.
