I never understood why people put tweeters down by their feet

But I guess it would be cool for mounting a mid of a 3-way.

If you're that worried, do some time correction. Besides, that's a horrible pathlength for a tweeter when you consider that it goes right through your leg. Bad enough that the mids are in the door.

Can't believe that it almost completely covers the dead pedal. Where do you put your left foot if you drive a stick?

I think you need to study more.

You sure like your uninformative one liners.

"In an automobile listening environment, you often end up sitting closer to one side of a pair of left and right stereo speakers. This difference between the path length from one speaker to your ears and the path length from the other speaker to your ears results in poor stereo imaging. Kick panel mounted speakers sound great and provide great stereo imaging because they are mounted relatively far away from the listener's ears. This minimizes the undesirable path length differences between the left and right speakers."

I say again, time alignment will fix this (or as best as you can expect to fix it in an automobile environment). And putting the tweeters in the kicks muffles them because your leg is in the way; same problem with the mids in our doors.

Yup.

But time alignment is really a small band aid and will never fix it as much as proper speaker alginment, as well as providing stage width, depth, and stage presence arross the stage.

you can also add an extra set of tweeters in the a pillar and turn them way down so it won't sound too bright, it'll help pull the sound imaging up a lil better.

The better apporoach if you want 4 tweeters and putting them in teh a piller is to cross them over higher around 10k and up, to pull the stage up.

I heard a competition sound system with custom made kick panels in a BMW 2002 and it sounded AWESOME!!!! This car also had four 8" subs mounted on the rear deck in free air configuration. I never thought free air subs sounded that good. It didn't have real low slammin bass cause it was meant more for sound quality than SPL.
