Component wiring question

I am installing a pair of components in my 98, and was wondering where to mount the crossovers. I don't want to mount them inside of the door because of moisture and the weather.

1. If I mount them in the trunk, where could I run my speaker wire for the driver side because my power wire is running down that side?

2. Would I get interference if I ran it down the driver side, or should I run speaker wire from the driver side to the passenger side, and run them both down the passenger side with my remote and rcas, or would that be too long of a route and case loss of power?

3. What guage speaker wire should I use because of the extra length, if I choose to run them both down the passenger side?

I would think that you shouldn't run your speaker wires next to your RCA's due to interference. Depending upon how your power wires are run, meaning are your wires kind of up or are they on the metal floor and run under braces along the floor. I would try and seperate them like that and it should be fine. I mounted my x-overs in the trunk but I have a 5th gen and I had to bring my speaker wires through the engine bay in order to get them into the doors.

Don't run it on the driver side.

They also say don't run it along with your RCAs, but I know several people (myself included) who did and have no problems with noise.

You shouldn't need to increase the wire size of the driver side just because you are running it on the passenger side, it's only an extra 3 feet or so. I ran 14 guage to my x-overs in the kick panels and 16 from there to the components. You can do the same with the x-overs in the trunk.

yeah this is like the most perfect spot in the world for them. I just wrapped mine in crumpled up newspaper and put them in there. They fit perfectly and are easy to get to if you need to make any adjustments.
