Is there a computer program that could be used to copy the soundtrack of a DVD to a CD ? I'd like to do that with rock shows' DVDs so I don't have to buy a DVD player for the car to listen to them.

There is a devise known as a CD recorder. Been around several years now. You won't get the 6 channnel audio. But the two channel version is still decent. Also, there is protection circuitry in the recorders that won't allow you to make a digital copy.
