Whine in Speakers

I recently added my Diamond Audio M3 components and DAm3 in my rear deck. I have them amped to a kicker 300.2. I got a pioneer mp3/cd/dvd/etc.. HU. My problem is that im getting a whine in the speakers at low volume. How do i get rid of that. Its driving me crazy

Would the RCA's be bad or something?
Would speaker wire have to do anything with it?
Well the amp is placed on the trunk carpet so, I dont think that would be it, but Ill check the ground on the amp when I get home from work.

I hear the whine mostly when I step on the gas.

Make sure the RCAs are on the opposite side of the car as the power/remote. No the RCAs arent bad, but make sure they are going in the right direction. The amp is on the trunk carpet, but not screwed down? Your speaker wires should be fine. Im sure Corey checked all this though..

The Amp is screwed down in the trunk...
I think I might have run the remote (little skinny wire) on the same side as the RCA's

Move the remote wire...and if you have the amp on the carpet, but screwed down, what do you think is under the carpet?

Check to see that when you dropped the speaker in the whole that your speaker inputs are not touching any metal. I had this problem and this was the culprit.

But if the speaker(s) were grounding out, everything would sound like pure ****, instead of just engine whine/ground loop

This is what my problem was on my 5th gen. Just throwing a suggestion out there. Mine didn't necessarily cut out or sound too bad just a horrible whine.

The first step in a noise problem is to isolate it. Remove the RCA's from the amp, and se if it goes away. If it doesn't you have ground, and/or a battery connection problem. If it does go away, you most likely have a ground loop. This is the most likely situation, most of the Maxima's do not have a ground wire in the factory harness, and require one to power the radio. The factory radio is grounded by the brackets that it mounts to and through the antenna. Check to see if the installer added a ground to the head unit. also, unscrew the amp from the car and check to see if it goes away. Another possibility for noise is the gain control. Too many people think it is a volume control instead of a level matching device. If you turn the gain down, does the noise go away? You must check quite a few things to find out where the noise is getting in from. Also sometimes if you use cheap/non twisted pair RCA's They will pick up noise from wires already in the car. Remember every wire is an antenna. That should give you the ability to solve about 98% of noise problems.
