Horrible Rattle

I had 2 JL 12s inna bandpass w/ no rattle. I just replaced them w/ 2 Pioneer 15s inna sealed box. They hit twice as hard & loud w/ the same amp (Eclipse).

Anyways the rattle is horrible. I got a 99 so Its not the license plate too much mostly my factory spoiler and other random parts i dont know what or where they are.

I dont really wanna dynomat b/c of $. I was thinkin i could take the spoiler off and put some kind of "padding tape" on it then bolt it back down? And hopefully that will work.........

This worked on my eclipse but since i have no spoiler on my max i dunno if it will work but give it a try anyway. Take off the spoiler, stuff the **** out of it with poly fill, then put a piece of rubber between the spoiler and trunk lid. Hope this helps.

Hmmm, so you think my spoiler is hollow? I havent taken it off yet so i dont know. what exactly is poly fill, im guesing some sort of sound dampener, but where do i get it? Ill try home depot.

I was also thinkin about spraying some of that expanding foam that plumbers use in random holes of my trunk? Any down side to that?

I'm not sure if the Max spoilers are hollow cuz I don't have one but if it is that should work. you don't have to use poly, you can use insalation or something along the lines of that. I used poly cuz I had a roll of it. As for the random holes, some people stuff pieces of carpet into them but I dunno :shrugs: I usually dynamat my trunks.

carpet? i dont think that would be good.

Do you know what im talkin about w/ the plumbers expanding foam, they use it around pipes to expand to create a seal so no bugs can get in your house...its yellow.

Anyways I just wasnt sure if it had anydown sides. But as far as this "poly fill" stuff where would 1 go abouts gettin this stuff.

You talking about the "great stuff"? I dunno if there is any downside to using it besides it beeing messy. You can get poly fill at an arts and crafts store.
