Relocating some things, questions about wiring.

Good day everyone. I am going to be starting up a little custom projet involving relocating some items to make room for new and shiner things. I will be moving the following items;

- AC Controls
- Headunit
- and I will be doing some work with the antenna wires.

I just need to know what guage wiring all these acessories use. I know this must be a real noob question but I just wanted to be 100% sure before I started this.

Oh and also, installing a moniter in my dash I need a good ground point close to the dash, and since I'm not sure what a good ground is, I am going to ask for a reccomendation.

Re: Relocating some things, questions about wiring.

No one can answer this guy's question?

I'll guess...maybe someone will elaborate.

All of the wiring for the head unit behind the dash is "probably" 18 guage. I've worked with it, but I've never looked at it and judged its size.

I believe the environmental controls are the same...at least it all looked like a bunch of small wires back there.

Antenna? Hmmmmm....well the Maxs use a dual diversity antenna, which of course uses a special adapter along with the usual thick cord, which is mostly shielding I'm guessing. I'd stick with an extension you may be able to find at an audio store.

Of course, it's quite possible that some of the wires are thicker than the others depending on their use. To be sure, I'd just pull the stereo and a/c controls out and inspect them. It doesn't take long.
