Adding a sub w/bose

I love the Bose but want to add a Sub. I plan on getting a Rockford Fosgate amp (i hear most of them have the speaker level inputs) and probably 2 12in Rockford Fosgate Subs. I will be installing it my self with the help of a friend who has done many systems but none that are bose.
The Faqs say--- "Tap the amp into the rear speakers between the speaker and the amp." is there a second amp? if not where does it splice in?

The faqs also say--- "However, once again you'll be getting the "after Equalization" sound, so the signal will not be accurate." What does this mean? Can anyone who has done/heard this tell me how it sounds?

Any tips or input before i go and spent a ton of cash would be great.

Yes, you have to make sure you have a sub amp (or converter) that can take speaker level inputs. Tap the amp into the rear speakers between the speaker and the amp. However, once again you'll be getting the "after Equalization" sound, so the signal will not be accurate.

Re: Adding a sub w/bose

if you're going to leave the factory system and just add some bass, why not go for an amplified sub like a high powered bazooka or an infinity basslink. a lot less hassle and easier to keep if you want to sell the car later.

i heard that to get maximum sound quality you'll need to buy some sort of a converter and connect it up to the head unit.. ps i've been looking for the instructions if anyone knows, please post it up, or pm me..

i just got a line out converter that i hooked to my rear speakers (bose). like $20 @ circuit city. just wrapped the converter input wires around the flex wires leading from the stock amp to the speaker cone. Aftermarket amp after the converter. works great!!

get a head unit if you are really serious about it. the better the signal power to the amp, the better.
