I got a Sony CD receiver from an open box sale at the WIZ, its Sony CDX 4250.... I couldn't find such model anywhere on the net.. Anyways, I brought it home and I am trying to check if it works somehow..
Can I use one of those thingies you plug in as a source of power? I tried it, there is a charge but the CD player makes some noise on occasion and thats it, nothing works on the display. It also ate one of my CDs and now I have to take this ***** apart to get it back.. Is there any way to test if it works without going and wiring it up in my Max?
Also, anyone have experiences with this headunit? is it any good? I hear people disliking Sony, but It was pretty cheap and i can return it if anything.

Again, if anyone has a CD deck for under a 100$ or around there somewhere, I might be interested, its GOTTA be in working condition though.

all you have to do is just connect the negative and positive wires from your head unit to the positive and negative terminals on your battery and it will go on ,light up ,etc........

Sony products are terribly unreliable. The broken CD transport mechanism is common with all Sony CD players. I say unload that thing and get something good.

damn WIZ!!!!!!

They didn't want to give me my money back, but I got store credit instead.... So I have a 100 bux to get something else from the WIZ. Do you guys know if the prices at the Wiz are any cheaper or more expensive then lets say, Crutchfield.com? This sucks, the damn CD deck was ****ed up anyways, my dad connected it to the battery terminal somehow, but on my brothers Corolla because I was in school, he said the CD wasn't even spinning but the display lit up.. ah well.. Reccomendations for cheap but good quality CD decks under 150$? I am considering a JVC or a Kenwood CD receiver, they seem fairly low in prices..

Yeah, get a Kenwood. Are you planning on building a big system? If you are, you'll want lots of features on the HU (more $, of course). If not, get a simple one for less. Something to think about.
