High Output Alternator or NOT?

Ive got a Audiobahn 1200 mono amp running at .5 ohms into 2 L5's and an Audiobahn 4ch 200w amp for the inside, but it seems that even with a 3 farad and a 1.2 farad for those amps my lights are still dimming and the amp might not be getting all the amprage it needs. any one with a little more profficency in this area gimmi a hand please?

Optima yellow top will help but most of it will come while playing the system with the car off. You need a higher output alternator.

Two batteries are ok to run off of the stock alternator and is usually good til about 2500 watts RMS. Anything above that, and you should have your factory alternator rewound for more output. Make sure you have 0 guage wire run to the back, and it wouldn't hurt to check out a 15 Farad capacitor either. And make sure you have upgraded all the cables from the alt to the starter and to the battery. The ground wires also need to be 0 guage to ensure proper voltage which when it drops causes the dimming.

I would say upgrade all of your factory ground cables first. A 3/5 farad cap should be more than enough for that setup. Also like posted before All of your power should be 0Awg. I do not see the need for 2 batteries at all, and most likely not a new alternator.
