think i fried my entire dash...
ok so i have a sony cdx-m850mp and i was opening up my dash to install my microvision screen. suddenly as i was sliding out my hu, i see sparks from the friction from the metal on the side... now my clock is out and my hu doesn't power on. messed up part was that i forgot to set my car off and had it in aux. So basically i think i fried something. plus i think the ground pulled off in the process of pulling out my hu. any way to save my unit and my damn clock? thanks guys, im a guy in desperate need.

Did you check all your fuses?

its your radio and accesary fuses. you can pull each fuse to test, but the real way is with a Digital MultiMeter and check continuity (sp?) across each fuse. Make sure all your wires are connected the RIGHT way, either soldiered and then taped (more the one layer of tape) or use mouse **** (white crimp caps) and crimp them down good.
In a customers car if there isnt a ground on the harness for the car, we always use a self taping screw into a good ground point, then run the wire to the radio location, where we zip tie it to the factory harness, and use push connecters so the radio can be removed without having to cut any wires.
