Removing Bose sub for a port....

Hey,

I just installed a new system, and I've noticed that when I fold down part of the rear seat, it gets alot louder. I've heard that if I remove the Bose sub in the rear deck (it's useless now) it will create a port that will help. My question is, is it hard to remove the sub? and will it sound as good as folding down 1/2 the rear seats? thanks in advance for the help.....

You should get a little extra boom, but not as much as the seat down. I've considered doing it myself, but my head rings from the boom already
