Does the stock antennas still work as they are supposed to with a aftermarket HU. I see a lot of people with upgraded HU that their antenna does not come up at all, or are up all the time. What's the deal with that?

If you hook up your aftermarket HU correctly the antenna should only come up when the radio is on. Some big cities you really don't need to put up your antenna. You would have to put in a swith to put it up and down manually.

i have an excelon hu and antenna only comes up when i use the tuner. people tell me that pioneer hu's keep antenna up all the time.
