Stuff the box with polyfill. Its pillow stuffing. Its at Walmart, just saw it this weekend for $1.99 for 20 ounces. Buy 2 bags, and stuff both boxes with it until it almost touches the subs. The polyfill basically slows down the acoustic wave the sub sends out, making it "think" its really in a bigger box.

Well, if the box is much smaller than recommended, its time to make a new box. I have the software that will give me the correct dimensions and specs for a box. I just need you're sub info. That's if you want to make you're own.... You can have Home depot cut the dimensions. Then you screw it together you're self, cut a hole for the sub, and put a terminal at the back. Put in some wires, fill with polyfill, and seal everything really well, you're done.

If this is a new sub it may need more time to break in the suspension. You definitely need to calculate the box you need before you stick a sub in any old box. Also verify that you have the amp wired optimally for the sub you have.

Polyfil will only give you 20% increase in box volume as far as the sub sees it. If you box is 1 Cubic foot, and you need to get to 1.2 that will work. Other wise it is time to rebuild.

yes its a brand new sub and also thanks for all the help. im not 100% sure what the volume of the box is the the guy i bought it from said that it was made for the kicker comp vr 15 inch so thats what i got. its a custom fiber glass box. so i really dont want to get a new box since i paid good money for it. but i guess ill wait it out and try the poly fill.
