Battery Terminal Woes

Ok, WTF!!

I've got a 2003 Maxima SE and I just looked under the hood at the battery. To my surprise it has this really gorky looking + battery terminal. It appears to have a normal auto battery terminal clamp on it, but it seems something else is piggy backed to it with a fuse and two wires - looks like some OEM distribution block with one fused output and one normal output. I'm guessing one goes to the alternator, but no clue where the other goes.. *shrug*

Any idea how to install some heavy gauge wiring for an amp using custom terminals and still maintain this OEM battery hookup??

FYI, this is what I'm hoping to install, since it's awesome, platinum, and has a built-in fuse, what more could you ask for... It sits right on top of the terminal post.

Thanks,
Kevin

it looks cool and all but why do you need 2 power cables coming from the battery?

OK, one output is fused the other is not. What's the point? And $30? Give me a break. Use a friggin' ring terminal like everyone else and don't worry about it.

2awg or 4awg with a really thin wire terminal is not a very bottle-neck-free solution, though..

So don't use a really thin ring terminal, get a thick one. And that batt terminal only accepts up to 4 gauge, not 2. So what are you going to do with the unfused?

keeps stock terminal, and add audio terminal.
