While I agree about the JL, they are very hard to find for under $50. Especially the dual 4 ohms. Might be able to get a dual 8 because they are less popular. And a 12w0 will never go for under $70.
Try Kicker, they are cheap and easy to find under $50 for any size. It is also easy to find RF subs under $50.
Just search the eBay closed items to see what the closing bids end up being, because they always jump at the last minute. It'll give you an idea of what kind of bid you will have to place to win.

BLEH, I wouldn't ever put anything kicker in my car. I had 10w0's and they sounded awesome and pounded hard for being so inexpensive. I like infinity too, though I haven't heard the references. Sounds like you aren't looking to impress people from the outside of your car, so I'd try and find the best 'sounding' sub for your budget. go with the w0 or infinity ref. personally i'd save up more and just get a better sub but that's just me. if you look around and scroll through all the subs (i know it takes forever) you can find some really high quality used subs (older) for cheap. i'm talking 30 some odd dollars. good luck
