That CD Changer feature

Hey guys, I have a Clarion head unit and Clarion C-Bus 6-disk CD changer in my sentra. Earlier, the head unit took a dump on me and I just ordered myself an Alpine head unit and CD changer. The Clarion headunit is as good as garbage, but the CD changer may have a new life. My mom's Maxima has the Bose system installed in it with the built in CD changer controller. If I remember correctly, Clarion is compatible with the Bose system and being that it's a 96, it should be C-Bus, Am I correct?

Will my old CD changer connect directly by just plugging in the c-bus cable? Also, if so, can anyne give me some instructions on removing the trim to get to the radio, it's a GLE with the wood trim (although that prolly doesn't make any difference).

TIA

im pretty sure it wont connect because the bose will require a different type of connector than what the cd player you have has on it

it won't be a direct connect but i think that you can buy an adapter to make it work.

well, the manufacturer says Clarion/bose on all my web searches, I'll have to take a pic later today. I'm surprised if it's not a direct plug in. All I can say right now is it's round with about 6-8 pins...a standard C-bus plus if anyone is familiar (sort of looks like the old computer keyboard plugs, before ps/2).

oh, I forgot to mention, the system recently stopped reading all CDs. At first we thought it was CD-Rs b/c not all CD-Rs read, but even store bought CDs arent reading. It just displays "Err"
