5th Gen Aftermarket Headunit (look closer to stock?)

On a 5th gen what headunit looks the best you all think? I am not a fan of the pocket leftover with a single din (my 4th gen has the pocket on the bottom with climate controls above so that looks a bit better). Is it better to put 2 things (ex: a double din unit), or a single din. Just curious what everyone thought, look nicer. Thanks!

Sam

you can go with a double din unit. i never listen to casettes so i personally have an excelon cd player and a kenwood din sized eq. no pocket and still looks clean.

Most double-DIN HUs are ugly, but if you can find one that isn't then more power to you. Alternatively, if you really don't like the pocket look, then you could get something like this to hold CDs: DIN Panel CD holder, but kind of pricey for a 4 CD holder. You could also get some kind of toy to put in the slot, like gauges. I always wanted to put a voltmeter and ammeter in my dash.

You can buy two seperate din units/add-ons like I did. When I bought the kit for the 5th gener, I had to cut out the pocket. At the time, they didn't sell a bracket for double-din, just single-din with a pocket, which I believed looked ugly. Below is a pic of what's in my car now. I hope this gives you an idea of what you're looking for.

You can try a normal din headunit and a 6 disk, in dask cd changer. Pioneer, Nakamichi, and a few other companies make the in dash changers. Or if you wanna go all out, put a dvd player in the extra din hole

Check out my homepage to see what my 2 din setup looks like

Just like mine except I built a shell and black vinyled around my deck, looks pimp, but I want to fiberglass it in when I get a new deck

As far as I can tell, Pioneer doesn't make those in-dash changers anymore. I've been trying to find one ever since I got my Pioneer HU!

It's not the same, the factory face was rebuilt to fit over it. You never even see the acual head unit.

I dont' know what it cost never broke it down into pieces.
