color on top of optimas

I want a yellowtop battery but I want the red top. Is it possible to change the tops or is painting neccessary?

painting is necessary, the color of the battery tells what type of battery you have.

you have no issues using the deep cycle battery as a starter battery? i've heard mixed opinions about this from people in the Northeast trying to start their cars on cold winter mornings.

Never had a problem and I have been using Yellow tops in all my cars for the past 6+ years. Even in my older cars.

Just buy a Red Top, you'll be fine. I used to run two of them in parallel in my old civic. Never had a problem, and I was running 3000 watts RMS.

Red tops are [primarily designed for starting, whereas the yellows are made for systems. Thats what Optimas main intentions where.
