my new system

tell me what u think. it was installed by streetnoys here in san diego and all i got to say is they do great work. i have a alpine amp voodoo cap and alpine type r 12 inch in a fiberglass box well let me know what u think. http://www.f150online.com/galleries/...w.cfm?num=3777

that install looks really clean, but i see a big no-no in the installation. the amp was mounted upside down! maybe since it's on a metal surface it's ok, but i still wouldn't do that in my own car.

no they fixed it and thats its but y wouldnt u install it upside down???

Amps aren't suppose to be mounted upside down b/c they dissipate heat upwards. If you mounted it upside down like he did you will have problems later when it gets hot. My 2 cents.

i guess it's for real.. considering it's one of the basic mounting rules in every amplifier manual.

Actually back in the days they specifically told you not to install amps upside down mainly because of the components that they used. For example certain Capacitors inside an amp years ago had a special fluid inside it and it was recommended to have the amp facing upwards for the fluid not to settle on the top of the cap when mounted upside down. Now I have not really seen any problems with reputable amps being mounted upside down. I would not mount an amp upside down if I can help it, but thats just me thinking "old school".
