question about stereo

well i have a one sub set up and it sounds really good but when i play at high volumes the bass seems to cut out it still there but not hitting as hard as lower volume? what do u think is the problem? not enought power to subs. i have a alpine type r spec are 300 rms and 1000 peak and my alpine amp is 300 rms and 600 max. well let me know

Please tell us more to able to help you out...What headunit? Gauge power wire? ground? All music? Or just radio or CD? What other speakers are in the car? Stock or Aftermarket...Etc...

your gain could also be up too high at lower volume it will definately pound but when it is turned up you will add distortion and clipping.

Like DOn said give us more info so we can give you a better diagnosis. ALso do you have the crossover activated on the amp?

im using teh bose 2003 stock head unit and 8gauge wire. also i listen to all types of music.

Do you only have one amp running off of the 8 gauge?
Is your ground also 8 gauge?

Hopefully you have a multimeter. If so check the voltage at the amp with putting the (-) of the multimeter on the (-) of the amp and (+) of the meter on the (+) of the amp. Then turn the bass up to where it starts cutting of let me know what the voltage is at. Also what Type R subs you have the dual 4 or 2 ohms? Also how did you wire up each voicecoil?

well i have the dual 4 and wired it to me be 2 ohms well about multimeter i dont have one? it hink the bass still work just seems like it gets softer i really dont know whats going on.

What kinda amp you have? Is it rated to work at 2 ohms? What is the power rating on the subs and amp

my amp is rated at 2ohms and the power handling is 300 rms and 1000 peak also i have the alpine mrd300 so 300 rms 600 peak well let me know

Let me know what kind of head unit you have, what is the voltage output?
Any eq or crossover in line?
What are your setting on the amp? GAIN? X-OVER SETTINGS? Etc.
