speakers "pop"
I got an alpine deck w/ the bose speakers and when i switch stations the speakers pop. I think if i switch out the speakers they will stop but is there anyway to make it stop popping w/ the factory Bose.
Also, can I hook up the Bose ampilfiers to aftermarket rear deck speakers????

Did you use a premium sound system interface like the PAC ROEM-NIS2 when you added the Alpine HU and kept the Bose speakers? It plugs inline between the Alpine HU and the Bose stuff. If you didn't, that's probably why you're getting the popping. I'm not an expert on the ins and outs of how the Bose works, and I'm sure someone who is will post something soon, but generally speaking, aftermarket HU's don't work well with the Bose system unless you use an interface. They're fairly cheap, about $60 shipped from http://www.affsave.com.

No i didn't. But if there like 60 bux i'd probably just get new speakers b4 doing that. Does anyone know if i can use the Bose amplifiers on aftermarket speakers, or will it just continue to pop?????
Thanks

Do you have just one Bose amp or is there a separate amp for each speaker? I have a 2000 Max with Bose which only has one amp that powers all the speakers. For the 2000 Bose, there's no problem putting in new speakers, they work fine with the Bose amp (did it myself before eventually installing aftermarket amps). The problem comes from the incompatibility between an aftermarket HU and the Bose amp. That's what the interface is for. If you have a separate Bose amp for each speaker, though, I'm not sure how new speakers would work.
In the end, I think that as long as you leave the Bose amp(s) in, you will have a problem if you do not install an interface, regardless of what you do with the speakers.
