I currently run an Image Dynamics IDQ12 with 600W. Does anyone have experience with the Alchemy or Mass 2012? I'm interested primarily in sound quality, but SPL as it relates to dynamic range in the bass frequencies is also priority. I am also concerned with efficiency in order to preserve dynamic headroom. Any input appreciated. Thanks.

 

I've specifically heard the IDQ's in Maxima's before and they do a great job, though they were usually in pairs. The Alchemy 12 (very nice sub) should perform similarly to the IDQ though as it's not a sub with a large Xmax for SPL applications. You might want to wait for the IDMAX 12" sub which will be out this spring.

The Audiomobile is a decent sub that should do the job for you. Others to consider would be Crystal CMP and the Eclipse aluminum coned subs. Alot of people also seem to like these.
