I have Infinity 6002is in the front and Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 component system in the front. I'm looking to amplify the speakers, what Amp should I get?

Brand of your choice , multi-channel amp (4chan) and have the speakers wired in parallel so one channel will run 2 fronts , another will run 2 rears, and you can bridge youtwo rear channel to a sub.

I have a fondness for Phoenix Gold, but everyone has their own preference. If you want to keep your amps cooler, run a 4-channel for the front and rear components, then get an amp just for your sub.

You can run a decent 4-channel amp in parallel with the rear bridged like gtbigup said, but make sure you have plenty of air around the amp (or a very high quality amp) to keep it from overheating.

It's all up to you -- it's your system.

Are we just completely giving up on stereo imaging? I know it's tough in cars, but no reason to ignore it.

I say just a 2 channel amp for fronts - try for at least 75w rms. If you have subs or will be getting subs, use a separate amp. As for the rear speakers, run 'em off the HU.

As for amp brand, that's all a matter of opinion. I like Alpine, others like Pheonix Gold, Orion, Kenwood, RF; you name it, and somebody likes it. Just stay away from flea market brands and you will be ok.

I agree, just amp the fronts. I prefer JL amps, I have the 300/2.....Damn nice

Go at least 100WPC RMS for the front speakers. If you can't afford a 4 channel that is 100x4, just run the fronts off a 2 CH amp and power the rears with the HU or not at all.

Brand of your choice. Just stay away from the flea market stuff. If you want feedback on a particular amp post the brand and model number that you are considering. There are too many good ones out there to start listing them all here.

Now how well do you think a HU will push two kappa"s? Keeping in mind that the average HU puts out 22-25 watts rms max, I dont know of any radio pushing out more than that.Oh yea alpine 27 rms. With that said you will never have clear loud sound because when the HU starts to distort the amp will just be doing fine pushing those infiniti"s, but your decision

Nobody said we are looking for clear loud sound. Just rear fill, that's all. Clear loud sound is the job of the fronts, where you want to be pushing 100 rms or so.

Bingo. If you overdrive the rears they do horrible things to the soundstage. It will seem to pull the imaging back and to your right.
