need an experts help

i recently bought and installed alpine cva1003 with dva 5205. and also added non-alpine vcr to go with it. and i can't get my vcr to work. i get the picture but there is no sound coming from it. but if i disconnect ainet cable between headunit and dvd it works. what can i do to make both work(not at the same time)? because if dvd works then vcr don't and if vcr works then dvd don't work. i called alpine tech support about 10 times and they all told me to get video switcher(they also told me to disconnect-->basically ignore the ainet cable) but without ainet cable hooked up dvd wont even power on. any suggestion? please tell me there is a way to run these two without spending lot of money.

thanks,
Tae

The video switcher sounds like the answer. You would need this in your home system if your home receiver could not accept more than one video signal and have a built in switcher. Many still connect their old TV's, VCR's and DVD's this way. Alpine also makes a device for adding a second source. I just don't know if it has video capability. Most of the details are in your CVA1003 owners manual.

You need to add the TCS-V430A. It is a TV tuner, but it also does multi sourceinput, and output. That will solve all your problems.
