GPS Navigation (pics)
I've added a Pioneer GPS unit along with an aftermarket screen. Not for the faint of heart because there are many addtiional pieces that need to be purchased to get this to work with a non-Pioneer screen. It can get pretty pricey. I opted for a non-Redmax screen (nothing against the Microvision screens), but I wanted a screen that had the remote eye visible and this one had a higher resolution (2400x480), and it was slightly cheaper. I may go with a Pioneer screen down the road since now they have detachable faces, but those are like $1500, so what I have now will do.
Oh, and I did the installation all by my lonesome self which is a major accomplishment for me since I've only done two stereo installations in my life.
So, here's a preview pic. Click on my homepage to see the other pics.

WOW, if you dont mind me asking, how much did everything cost you? ive always wanted a gps set up as i tend to travel whenever i can and also move a lot, and am always lost. also do you need a computer to run the program or just a gps reciever? can you input a destination or does it work more like a moving map?
thanks

BadKarma, I paid about $1000 total which includes the screen and all the little knick-knacks needed to get to work. I'm still trying to work out the kinks. Originally, I was thinking of getting the Alpine unit, but I emailed Pioneer and they said that their units will work with non-Pioneer monitors. Besdies, the Alpine units are too much $$$.
Conrad is correct, it's a standalone unit that will fit in a DIN slot. Also, you can input destinations. It's been pretty accurate so far.

ny96max, it's a Farenheit T-7000MHR and it cost me $225 shipped from CA. I bought it on ebay from the seller millionbuy
Here's a link to one right now...

What I like about this screen is that I didn't need a separate switch. If it's off, it stays off when the engine is restarted. If it was on, it would turn back on when the engine was restarted. Nice, eh?
