how to get the best sound

out of your sub. well lately my sub has not been sounding so good its seems like there is a lot of distortion. ell its doesnt sond as clean as i want to. what can i do. i have the bose hu. alpine type r sub and alpine mrd300 amp. can this be becasue i turned up the gain all the way??? let me know.

When a gain is turned up all the way on an amp you will definately induce more more distortion providing that you do not have another way to control the sub "volume/gain".

What is the problem with the sub?

Could be a leaky enclosure. Check for air leaks around the box and double check the wiring.

nothing with the sub just think it should hit harder. the enclosure had a leak but i fixed it tho and when i push in the sub its tight and there is not sound well thanks for helping
