none of my speakers fit

none of my speakers fit

I have eclipse 6 1/2 for front and back and the fronts are too big and the rears are too small. one of the holes match up. What do I do?

Yes, you will have to drill holes. I bought Polk 6 1/2" speakers today for the front doors and was not happy to find the same problem as you. I went back to Circuit City and asked the sales rep that sold them to me what I should do. He said that the factory speakers are a unusual design, and I would not be able to find anything to fit without modification. He then suggested that I drill new holes in the speaker frame to match the factory holes. I did and it worked fine. It kind of sucks drilling holes in a pair of brand new speakers, but they are hidden behind the door panels anyway. I do not know what to tell you about the rear, because I opened up the holes and installed 6 x 9's.

Can't I just drill holes in the baskets?

you can drill holes wherever they will fit, just dont get too close to the edge of what ever you are drilling in to!

Anyone have a writeup on hwo to mkae new baffles? I'm not really familiar, not sure if I even have the right tools.
