Capacitor (Cap) Question

Hey Guys,

I am replacing my BOSE stock system. I am also going to hook up a Alpine 4 channel amp (55X4 @ 4ohms) to my newly Installed Infinty Highs & Mids and have a question. Do I need a Cap for this amp? I am affraid that the draw on my alternator might be enough to cause my lights to blink. However, I realize that this only really happens when you have a powerful amp (300+ watts) used for pushing subs, but my main concern is protecting my electrical system. I don't want to put a lot of strain on my car's electrical system and I will do anything that is needed to avoid running through batteries & alternators. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

You will be fine. I have that same alpine amp and also a MRD-M300, no problems with dimming. And my voltage reads good values, so it doesn't appear to be straining anything.

No need for a cap. As stated above a cap is only usefull for the sub amp. And with less than 1000 watts RMS in the Maxima I wouldn't worry about needing a cap.
