optima battery

I was wondering who all on the org. has an optima battery, and which one dose everyone have (red top or the yellowtop)? If you have it are you using your stock altenator? I have a banging system and don't want to be left calling AAA this winter to come give me a jump. Would anyone recommend getting one, if so which one? I was doing research and it looks like the Red Top 34 or the YellowTop D34/78 or D34 would be the best choise, I just want to hear from everyone.

I've always been told the yellow top is the one for an audio system. It can handle the charging and discharging better cuz it's a deep cycle.

If your battery is fine now that shouldn't change. Just check the water level a couple times during the winter. Battery should only be used to crank the engine. Don't use it to listen to music in the parking lot, won't matter what kind of battery you have if you do that. Dang, just read that you have that Alumapro 15 farad cap. Problem they don't publish is that when it charges it seriously drains the battery. I would definitely turn the stereo off a minute before turning the engine off. That lets the battery recharge a little.

I got a yellow top and I am very happy with it. Oh, and I have a stock alternator.
