Need help with custom Box in trunk!!!!

I've seen a few people in .org who built a false floor in their trunks and I wanted to do the same thing so i can nail my sub box down to it and still be able to get access to the spare tire. If anyone knows the dimensions of their trunk floor in a 2001 Maxima, please let me know!!!!. I'm going to put 2 12" Audiobahn Alum12X in the trunk. I was thinking of putting my two amps on the back seats or mount them under the rear deck. I'm still collecting my system, so for now I would greatly need the dimensions of the trunk floor. Thanx in advance!!!

kinda off topic but i wouldn't mount the amps under the rear deck. if you do that the heat sinks will aim down, causing the heat giving off by the amp to rise back up into the amp. best to mount the amp facing up for maximum heat dissapation.

Ok then scratch that idea and mount the amps behind the back seats. U know what would be a good location to put the crossover for the components?

I could give you dimensions but it is much better to go out to the car with a tape measure yourself. The trunk isn't a normal parallelogram. You probably want to cut at least 3-4 pieces of wood to cover the floor. That way you can access just the space tire area without taking everything out of the trunk.

For false floor, best thing you can do is get some tape and a couple large sheets of poster board. Go to the trunk, get rough measurements, take either scissors or a box cutter and cut the poster board pieces to shape of the walls of the trunk. use tape to join them together, then test fit. Be sure to have something underneath it to simulate the height you want. Once you got the poster board cut as you would like the floor to be, transfer the shape onto the wood. Another way is simply grab the mat covering trunk floor transfer the shape onto the wood and be sure to add about an inch or more to the edge.
