When I had my Viper alarm in my '95, I changed my red one to a blue one. I just went to Radio shack and bought a basic blue LED abd did a complete swap. I had it installed for years without any problems. Also, I had seen some DEI alarm LED's in blue and red on Ebay a while back. They are a direct swap. Look under DEI car alarms under "Computers and Electronics".

you know, DEI now supplies in their new alarm kits BLUE Led's. These can be bought from any local DEI dealer for under $4 each and will just plug into the existing port.

I got a bag of 5 from DEI direct for $10 shipped... employee accomodations rule!

It's easy enough to see if they have an LED with a resister. Just check the voltage on the line a couple inches before the LED. If it is already significantly less than 12.5 the resister is further back, maybe in the processor. I've been planning to swap out my red LED so that it better matches the rest of the interior. But the available colors I have seen are Red, yellow, blue, green and white. Of course there is an IR LED but don't think that would do much good.

I can get them in pretty much any color- orange, turquoise, red, IR, yellow, green, white, blue and even the hard to find purple but I just need to drop the voltage down to about 3v. Guess Ill have to mess with it when I get it installed.
