MATT93GXE & Anyone Familiar W/ KENWOOD
#1
I have a Kenwood CD player that is about a year and a half old. It is one that has the MASK anti theft device built into it. I have never had any problems with it until today. When I started my car, the faceplate started to flip around as normal but then just quit. I tried to puch the faceplate back up but it just fell down again. I took it out of my dash and checked everything with the wiring. The unit is not showing any signs of power. All of the wires and plugs check out fine. (I tested them with a multimeter.) It seems as if there is an internal power failure. Does anyone have any idea what to do or has anyone had this happen to their Kenwood before? If so, approximately how much did it cost to get it fixed? I have tried to get in touch with Kenwood today but with no luck.
I appreciate any help or feedback that ANYone might be able to give me.

Did you try to depress the tiny reset button on the unit? Most Kenwood's I've come accross have this little button. You will need a pen or sharp point item to do it. Sometimes this resets the internal logic of the unit so that it will work after a failue. If this doesn't work I guess you will need to get it repaired.....
General repair for something like this should be 1 hour labor plus parts. Expect it to cost around $60-75 or so if it's not under warranty.
