radio reception

I ahve an alpine 9815. My radio reception sucks. I have the antenna adaptor and the blue remote antennta wire both hooked up. I got another antenna adaptor to see if it works but haven't tried it yet. This new one I bough has an extra wire going off of it. Is that for a multi cd changer? Any other ideas on what is messed up with my hu?

Did you check the antenna wire that connects to the antenna in the trunk area? It may have gotten disconnected somehow.

I'm not too familiar with Alpine reception but i know that there are two wires, one that powers the antenna to go up and down when the radio is on, and one that gives it reception. They're different. The one that gives it reception is the thick black one that doesn't connect to the wire harness..
