System setup advice- need experts

Here is what I have so far (not installed yet)
Kenwood KDC-MPV622 (22 watts RMSx4)
Audiobahn tweeters (A-pilars)
Pioneer 2 ways- TS-1647 (front)
Stock 6 1/2"s (rear)
DEI 1100d amp pushing an Elemental Designs 12a sub in a sealed box.

Spare parts sitting in garage
Punch 150a2 amp (35 watts x 2 RMS @ 4 ohms)
HiFonics ZX4000 amp (100 x 2 RMS @ 4 ohms)

I think I am going to have to do something about my mids. I don't want to get component speakers because I don't feel like messing with crossovers. Also, if I don't need to add a second amp, I don't want to.

Should I........
A. Leave the system "as is".
B. Move the 2 way Pioneers to the rear doors and get a set of Pioneer 3 ways for the front ones.
B. Move the 2 way Pioneers to the rear doors and get some really good coaxials for the front doors driven by one of my two spare amps.

Also, any advice on speakers would be helpful. I have some thoughts of my own, but I want to see what you guys think.

Here is what I am leaning towards for the front. Will this be overkill on the tweeters with the one in the A-pilar as well?

DOnt waste you money on pionner speakers. THey are the worst of any brand name stuff. Get some components LINK . ITs not hard at all to wire them and they will sound 100 times better. Pioneers are ok for back fill in sound. And dont buy stuff from cruchfield they are way over priced. I bought most of my system from WWW.ETRONICS.COM and never had any problems, they are the cheapest on the internet.

pioneers are ok. they don't sound that bad, but to each of their own i guess. i recentlly upgraded my old pioneer 6.5s to these alpines

yeah they're not top of the line alpine stuff, but it sounds very nice. clear highs and nice mids. But don't overkill your rear though. might want to concentrate more on your front speakers.

For Coax speakers, I would go Alpine, MBQuart, Kicker or Infinity.

I bought the Kicker Resolution component set, but a cool feature of it is the ability to use it as a Coax setup as well. I have heard good things about it, but I don't have them installed yet.

eww i had those 3way pioneers. No bass what-so-ever. ewww!

You want a nice component set bro, do the extra work. You want nice mid bass and nice highs.

Trust me on this. I know what your going thru.

You have an incredible Subwoofer set up.

Go for CDT cl61 components ($150) from www.thezeb.com, run them off of your spare hifonics. Take out that kenwood 4 channel, and run your current rear speakers off of the head unit.

Please take my advice in to SERIOUS consideration.

The Kenwood "4 channel" is my head unit.

I looked at those speakers, but I really don't have the desire to run speaker wire to the doors for the components. I definitely want to stick with coaxials.

After hearing my deck tonight, I decided against using a second external amp for the mids. Now all I am looking for is the best set of coaxials I can buy that will fit in the front doors for about $80 or so.....

Damn, now I'm torn. I figure I dumped all that money into a sub and amp, why sell myself short on the mids? I just don't want to deal with mounting the damn crossovers somewhere though. Dammit..... someone just decide for me....

just get a good set of coaxials. component sets are nice, but like you say, mounting the crossovers can be troublesome.

I just tuck x-overs under the carpet. If all the power wire is there, and the RCA's are there, then go for the other amp. you have some killer potential.

But until you are ready to do a little bit of wiring, pick up a set of CDT 6.5 coaxials form www.thezeb.com

they are great speakers.
PLUS, twhen you do want components, they are GREAT for rear fill!

Mount the crossovers in the kick panels. It is not that difficult. All you will have to do is tap the wire from the head unit. Got to Xover. Then from XOver to tweets and mids.

Well, the CDT's won't fit in the front doors without some sort of spacers because of the mounting depth. I went ahead and ordered these... (NOT from Crutchfield- I just use them as a shopping resource.)

Asu...

Definite improvement with the Infinitys vs. the Pioneers you originally asked about.

First of all, depending on how good you like your music to sound, maybe you should think about saving up a little more money first. It sounds like you're trying to make a quick decision that you will regret later. Take your time!

If you get a good set of coaxials, you will NOT need the tweeters in the A-pilars.
I super-highly recommend Focal coaxials. One of the best I've heard and sound better than many components. I have the HC line but recently noticed they've changed...now called CV line???

So, to answer your original question, I advise you take your third option. Buy some good coaxials for the front, driven by an amp - not the head - and move the Pioneers to the back.

yes they come in pairs. the bass i honestly don't know since my subs takes care most of the low frequency for me. however, the midbass was a nice improvement over my old pioneers i had in there. the treble is nice and high. but don't expect to win sound competitions with these. but for low to moderately loud volumes, these speakers hold up nicely.

that too i don't know. i'm not the original owner of my max. my uncle switched out the non-bose stuff for the pioneers like several years back when he was still driving it. Best bet is to listen to your current setup you have in your car, and go to a car audio store and listen to the speakers on display and see which ones you like. but keep in mind it won't sound exactly like what it'll be like in the car since...well, they on display and not in a car But you'll have a general idea on how they will sound like.
