3 way vs. 2 way speakers

Hey, what is the difference between 2 way and 3 way speakers?

The difference is the number of speakers used. A very good two way will be better than all but the most carefully selected and installed three way. With very careful speaker placement a three or more way can sound better and have greater overall high spl performance. But to be as honest as a person that has spent thousands of hours listening carefully can be - a very good two way can sound truly spectacular. Especially if you have a sub in the trunk to complement the coaxial or component speakers.

2-way speakers have a woofer and tweeter. 3-way speakers have a woofer, midrange and tweeter.
