anything besides sony. sony makes some great TVs and other electronics, but when it comes to car stereo...they're not up to par.

dont go with bose bcuz u'll have a hell of a time wiring them up, i'd suggest pioneer, infinity, fosgate, mtx, kicker, orion, and definately NOT sony, they make more products that end up needing to be refurbished than anyone else!!!

ininity sucks a**, i cant stress this enough. mtx died a long time ago, fosgate was flushed a while ago. orion makes good stuff, as does kicker. soundstream makes good products. diamond audio is great, eclipse is great. sony shouldnt even count lol.

i beg to differ...

infinity does NOT suck, give the infinty kappa perfect components a listen. those setup are some of the nicest i've heard. fosgates are still alive and kicking and makes some nice amps. sony IS there, but does not meet the demands of big audiophiles.

give them a listen? i have installed them in other people's cars. why on earth would anyone install them over Diamond M6's which cost about the same? diamond's pee and vomit all over infinity. Also, rockfords stuff is overrated, and overpriced for what you are actually getting. Being that your nick is Fosgate Fan, i doubt i can persuade you otherwise. Infinity and rockford are for people that don't want quality for their money. there are countless numbers of manufacturers out there that are a lot better than the both of them, but they arent sold in best buy or circuit city so u probably will nver hear them. another thing is most good companies dont allow their products to be sold online. that tells you something right there. and im not talking about pricey stuff either. you can get better products for the same price as rockfords and infinity's stuff. Dont get me wrong, fosgate used to be top notch until they started marketing to the everyday consumer. i would go with CDT, Diamond, alpine, Kicker, Phoenix Gold, Soundstream (just installed a 10" soundstream sub that would destroy most people's dual 12's and it isnt all that expensive). people just need to be aware of what is out there. there is more than what best buy has to offer

haha you don't think i want to change my user name? i really do...but it's not possible

yes i know there are better stuff out there. i'm currently looking for a nice set of alpine components to replace my POS front speakers. what i really want is a pair of elemental design e12A 12s to replace my two fosgate tens. no stores that i've seen so far carries them, and they're only online retailers i believe. they seems like the best bang for your buck there. anyways, i'm just saying for a majority of the consumer market, not many people go with those other companies you've mentioned, and just stick to what they see and hear in retail chains. yes, some are over rated and priced, but again, not many people know.

I highly recommend JL or MB Quart. Costs more, but well worth it.

I assume you have 6x9 speakers in the rear deck. Since you are concerned with cost first, then quality... I would recommend Pioneer TSA6995 (only) 4way 6x9" in the back. I had them in my car with an Amp, and then I bought some for my bro, with his stock HU. They work extremely well both ways. You will be impressed. Great Bass, and awesome highs. IMO they sound than the JBLs & Infiniti Reference. It's really a matter of personal taste... You have to listen to them yourself, but it's hard to find a place anymore with a decent speaker lineup to listen to.

And to give you a few links with some good pricing:

Some people like these even better:
