Nissan Bose CD/Cassette/Radio - Installation

Hi guys,

Again, the search feature is not working.

On my 95 Max SE, I have the standard Radio/Cassette with 4 speakers system. A friend of mine is selling his 95 Max SE Bose CD/Cassette/Radio for $50.

Before I buy it from him, I would like to know if I can replace my current unit with the Bose head? Do I need any special adapter, harness? I am hoping that the swap will be very easy, am I right?

Since I have only 4 speakers, will it still work? I think he has 6 speakers in his car.

Thanks guys.

no it will not work. the bose unit is not powered(amplifies no power to speakers). In the bose setup each speker has it's own amplifier except for the tweeters which run off the front drivers' amp. you would need to get all the spekers with amps and then do alot of wiring since you would have to run power and ground wires to all the speakers' amps.

If you've got just the AM/FM cassette head unit made by Clarion that is a single-DIN unit, and you have the storage box below, you can add a Nissan OEM 6-disc changer in the place where the storage box goes and get the best of everything: AM/FM/Cassette/6-disc changer in the dash. It just plugs right into the back of the head unit--no extra wiring to run at all.
